Changes
Posted by Becky on 23rd Jun in General.I’ve had a heck of a time over the past few years trying to find my blogging voice again. I’ve switched domains, redesigned a million times, and tried to find the meaning of my blog. Today, I realized I’m tired of blogging like this. I’ve been blogging since 2001 – that’s eight years. I used plain ol’ notepad and HTML, then Pitas, then Blogger, then Movable Type, then Wordpress, and throw in a bit of Livejournal there. And through the times my blog has followed me grow up through high school and university, and now that I’m done with university I feel like I’m at a stage in my life where blogging is hard.
I don’t have much to say – I’m not particularly witty or funny in my entries, and I’m not even really all that interesting. It’s hard to think of ideas or a goal of my blog when I’m all over the place in terms of interests and passions. I realized I’m dry when it comes to blogging for the first time in the eight years I’ve been sharing my thoughts on the Internet. That’s a weird feeling.
Today I was thinking of shutting it all down and just having a portfolio of my work.
But fortunately I forced myself to keep thinking, and now I have an announcement to make.
Starting around the beginning of July, I will not be blogging by myself. Stephanie and I will begin co-blogging here about creativity and living well. It will be an interesting experiment but well worth it. I hope you will all come back to see the changes made to this place!

Whatever works! I think co-blogging with Stephanie would be interesting.
But yeah I’ve been blogging since 2001 as well, so I’m like “ancient” in the blogging world. I wonder if I’ll ever feel the way you do about blogging as a whole. I know I go through times where I’m not in the mood to blog, but then I’ll get out of that funk and blog again.

I look forward to the changes you’ll be making! After that long I think anyone would get tired of regular old blogging. It gets dull. I think we’ve all tried the same technique of switching servers, redesigning, etc. in order to become motivated, but really it comes down to the content. As long as you’re focusing on something you’re interested in you’ll have more success. Good luck and I can’t wait to see what your co-blogger has to say!

Awww that’s sad but I’m excited to read your new blog with Stephanie!
I do know what you mean about being kind of tired of blogging… that’s why I haven’t been writing much lately (well that and I’ve been extremely busy)

If you ever need a dissenting voice, I’m willing to put in an application to write some harsh criticisms of the world on your blog. With pictures.
Just a thought!
