And the sad thing is there are more people for the graphics and gameplay than the story. Theyre paid a lot so it's hard to get a writer to write a decent story. And developers know that as long as they have eye candy, who cares about the story.

You bring up a solid point. I think that we, and in particular PC gamers (and I say this AS a PC gamer), have gotten stupendously spoiled in the past five or so years. We want instant gratification and perfect everything, or else we throw tantrums or pirate. It's a little ridiculous.

The current idea of flawed is more than a little rediculous. I'm pretty sure that if you found me fifteen years ago and got me to put down the Genesis, I wouldn't be able to process the concept of Skyrim. If you were to show that same past-me the worst glitches on even the lowest graphical settings I'd still be freaking out.

It seems that either our collective memory is awful, we lose perspective very easily, or both.

"1 month goes by - gamers everywhere decide the game is flawed and terrible" is EXACTLY how I feel about people talking about Skyrim right now. Just... what happened again??

I don't have a gaming mouse myself, but I do have a wireless mouse that I use for gaming since my computer is a laptop and laptop mouse pads tend to sometimes lose sensitivity and won't respond as fast as you want it to. It usually only happens when playing games on the computer and it's very annoying if you're in a fight or working with a group in an MMORPG. I hate being unreliable if I'm grouped.

Come to think of it, my wireless mouse probably needs replacing. It's old and either it's not compatible with Windows 7 or the battery needs replacing. Still, it's wearing down.

I must admit though that I prefer console gaming to computer gaming in general but I unfortunately do not have the money to get a PS3 or Xbox 360. Also, I no longer have possession of the controller I got for my computer for reasons out of my control, so I can't even play the games that have controller compatibility. Another thing to get when I have the spare money I guess. XD

Holy crap, how have I not heard about his game?! I am absolutely trying out the demo today. I'm a little bummed that once again PC gets the shaft when it comes to ports, but we'll see - I definitely have to try it out!

Yes this is Stephanie's brother(love her bio). I just want to say I'm looking forward to discussing videogames with you all. I myself am a dedicated Halo fan(ODST!) What I need right now is a better understanding of how to post comments and get into discussing vidoegames. Thanks all of you

Games I missed:

- Duke Nukem. Ditto. You know what? I don't feel like I missed anything.

- Majora's Mask. Windwaker. Twilight Princess. Skyward Sword. I feel very guilty for missing these, and someday I'll play all of them. I did get to Four Swords. Spirit Tracks too.

- Deus Ex. I still want to play this. I care about stories, and people keep telling me this has one of the best.

- Planescape: Torment. Likewise people keep telling me this has one of the best stories. I played the first hour of it, and could really stand to go back and finish.

- Fallout. All of them.

- The Katamari sequels. I feel like I could have done more, but the music in the second game wasn't as satisfying, and I gave up.

- Mario Galaxy 2. I own this. This was gifted to me. I was very excited. I still haven't played it.

However, in my "proud to have played" column I must put:

- Every Mario Kart. Ever. Extensively. I'll play you right now. I'll win.

- Earthbound. Chrono Trigger. Secret of Mana. Legend of Mana. Secret of Evermore. If Square made it in the 90s, I've probably played it. Yes, I know (or, I remembered) that Earthbound isn't by Square. It should be. I feel empowered to retroactively credit them this game.

- Braid. I only played this recently. The game style was gorgeous, and the mechanics were original and satisfying, but despite promises of a good story, I was a little disappointed. It had good buildup, and a good final plot twist, but the words themselves were a jumble of nonsense for the whole last chapter.

- Portal. Portal 2. I'll play Portal 3, whenever that happens.

... you really do need to play Earthbound. Push yourself through the first hour or so. It's so worth it.
