A couple weeks ago Thomas pointed out to me that Woot was having a sale on Razer mice. I’ve never bought a gaming mouse in my entire life, and there was the Tron Razer Mouse, normally $100-ish, selling for $30. I mentioned it to Chris and he secretly bought it for me! It came last week.

I’ve never seen Tron, either the old one or the new one, but I figured the design was classy enough that it wouldn’t matter. I stand by this – the mouse and packaging are beautiful.

Unpacking the Tron Mouse

The instant I got this sucker in my paws, it was such a difference. Now I understand why people love Razer’s mice. It is incredibly sensitive – I’ve never had to turn the sensitivity down before. It has 7 buttons that you can map to whatever, but three of them are the usual mouse buttons so you really have 4 to play with. I haven’t found a way to map them to programs, but I’d very much like to. Imagine Skyrim opening at the click of a button! So far I’ve done a bit of gaming with it, mostly Skyrim, and it’s been amazing. It even makes little noises when the computer turns on – cute!

Tron mouse!

This is a fantastic mouse. I’m not a hardware snob in the least but I can see why people would pay $100 for it. It’s definitely for small hands or for a claw-grip for larger hands. I actually like the petite size though, seeing as my hands are smaller than the average gamer guy’s hands, and it is a beautiful design. Highly recommended!

I don’t have a gaming mouse myself, but I do have a wireless mouse that I use for gaming since my computer is a laptop and laptop mouse pads tend to sometimes lose sensitivity and won’t respond as fast as you want it to. It usually only happens when playing games on the computer and it’s very annoying if you’re in a fight or working with a group in an MMORPG. I hate being unreliable if I’m grouped.

Come to think of it, my wireless mouse probably needs replacing. It’s old and either it’s not compatible with Windows 7 or the battery needs replacing. Still, it’s wearing down.

I must admit though that I prefer console gaming to computer gaming in general but I unfortunately do not have the money to get a PS3 or Xbox 360. Also, I no longer have possession of the controller I got for my computer for reasons out of my control, so I can’t even play the games that have controller compatibility. Another thing to get when I have the spare money I guess. XD
